Day 1: Arrival and Introduction to Coastal Life

Welcome to Sri Lanka! Upon your arrival at the airport, you'll drive to Negombo, a charming coastal town located just 10 kilometers (15 minutes) from the airport. Negombo is a bustling fishing village known for its rich cultural heritage and beautiful beaches. After checking in to your hotel, embark on a scenic tour of the local fishing village. Visit the vibrant fish market, explore the quaint streets lined with colonial-era buildings, and stroll along the golden beach, where you’ll witness the daily catch being brought in from the sea. Enjoy a delicious seafood dinner before retiring for the night.

Day 2: Wildlife and Heritage

Route: Negombo → Sigiriya (Approx. 4 hours, 150 km)

After breakfast, depart for Sigiriya, a UNESCO World Heritage site. On your way, visit the Pinnawela Elephant Orphanage, located around 100 km from Negombo (about 3 hours). Here, you can observe orphaned elephants being cared for and see them bathe in the river. Continue your journey towards Sigiriya, where you'll check in to your hotel and get ready to visit the Sigiriya Rock Fortress. Known as the "Lion's Rock," this ancient royal citadel offers breathtaking panoramic views and incredible frescoes, as you climb the ancient stone steps up the towering rock.

Day 3: Ancient Ruins and Safari Adventure

Route: Sigiriya → Polonnaruwa (Approx. 1.5 hours, 60 km)

Day 6: Discovering Colombo’s Vibrancy

Route: Nuwara Eliya → Colombo (Approx. 5 hours, 180 km)

Today, depart for Colombo, Sri Lanka's bustling capital. The journey takes you through lush landscapes and scenic views of the island’s interior. Day 7: Departure

When and where does the tour start and end?

Your tour can start and finish from the Colombo Airport or from the Negombo city (just 5 kms away from the airport).

What time does the tour start?

On Day 1 the tour should ideally start early in the morning before 7am so that one could conveniently visit the Pinnawela Elephant Orphanage in time for the bottle feeding of the baby elephants which commences (for the morning session) at 9am. Thereafter proceeding to the Cultural Triangle for the first part of the tour.

Airport transfers could be arranged from the Airport to Negombo. If the arrival is later during the day
