About this tour

In comparison to its size, Sri Lanka can boast of one of the largest collections of waterfalls in a single country.  For an island of just over 65 thousand square kilometers the density of waterfalls is incredibly high. There are close to 500 waterfalls and most of them concentrated in the hill country of the island. The tallest is the Bambarakande Falls which cascades down a precipice to a depth of 263 meters. Only a few of these waterfalls can be viewed with ease while most need to be discovered after exploring the thick dense forest cover of Sri Lanka.

Below is a compilation of some waterfalls which can either be easily accessed or discovered after a little bit of trekking. During this 11 day tour the districts of Ratnapura, Badulla, Nuwara Eliya, Kandy and Matale will be explored.

The Fountains of Paradise (Waterfalls) Tour

(10 NTS/11 DAYS)

Day 01 :

Meet and Greet at Airport or Pick up from Colombo and leave for Ratnapura with picnic lunch. During the course of the day, the following waterfalls will be visited :

Overnight stay in hotel at Ratnapura.

Day 02 :

 After breakfast leave for Pelmadulla area with picnic lunch. During the course of the day the following waterfalls will be visited :

Overnight stay in hotel at Ratnapura.

Day 03 :

After breakfast leave for Wewelwatta area with picnic lunch.

During the course of the day, the following waterfalls will be visited.

Day 04 : 

After breakfast leave for the Sinharaja rainforest, a World Heritage Site, with picnic lunch to enjoy nature and observe the rich biodiversity and high endemism. On the way back, visit the following waterfalls :

Overnight stay in hotel at Sinharaja.

Day 05 : 

After breakfast leave for Balangoda area with picnic lunch. During the course of the day the following waterfalls will be visited :

Overnight stay in hotel at Belihuloya.

Day 06 :

After breakfast leave for Ella area with picnic lunch. During the course of the day the following waterfalls will be visited :

Overnight stay in hotel in Ella.

Day 07 :

After breakfast leave for Badulla area with picnic lunch. During the course of the day, the following waterfalls will be visited :

Overnight stay in hotel at Ella

Day 08 :

After breakfast leave for Horton Plains, Sri Lanka’s 7000 ft. high isolated wilderness plateau with picnic lunch. During the course of the day, the following waterfalls will be visited. :

Overnight stay in hotel at Nuwara Eliya.

Day 09 :

After breakfast leave for Talawakelle Ginigathhena, Ramboda area with picnic lunch. During the course of the day, the following waterfalls will be visited :

Day 10 :

After breakfast, leave for Kandy with picnic lunch. During the course of the day, the following waterfalls will be visited :

Pass through the Victoria Falls with which the famous Victoria reservoir has been submerged. Undertake a city tour ofthis beautiful city including the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic of Lord Buddha. In the evening watch a cultural performance by traditional Kandvan dancers and drummers.

Overnight stay in hotel at Kandy.

Day 11: 

After breakfast leave for Colombo area with picnic lunch.

During the course of the day, the following waterfalls will be visited :

Overnight stay in Colombo.

END OF TOUR
