Depart Kandy by private vehicle. Scenic drive through Wattegama, Hulu Ganga and Teldeniya to Deanston, passing misty tea plantations and rural villages.

9:00 AM

Arrive at the Deanston Conservation Center – receive a briefing by a Forest Department officer and start your forest immersion trek

🌳 Nature Walk through Knuckles Conservation Forest (9:15 AM – 12:00 PM)

Start your guided forest walk on well-maintained paths through the Knuckles cloud forest. The Deanston trail is known for its biodiversity, cool climate, and tranquil atmosphere.

🏞️ Landscapes Along the Trail:

  • Evergreen submontane forest with dense canopy and filtered sunlight
  • Streams, rocky riverbeds, small cascades, and bamboo thickets
  • Elevation ~900–1,100 meters above sea level

🌁 Scenic Drive to Corbett’s Gap & Viewpoint Exploration (1:00 PM – 3:00 PM)

Drive up to the ridge at Corbett’s Gap — a dramatic mountain pass carved between peaks. Often covered in rolling mist, it offers one of the most photogenic views of the Knuckles range.

  • Pause at the Corbett’s Gap Viewpoint to absorb sweeping views of Meemure Valley, terraced hillsides, waterfalls, and isolated mountain peaks
  • Great opportunity for panoramic photography, meditation, and observing shifting cloud layers
  • Optional: A short forest walk around the ridge and nearby Mini World’s End cliff (weather permitting)
