The town of Ella boasts of some of the most beautiful views, you could find in Sri Lanka. This small town is used as a base for plenty of trekking expeditions to the surrounding countryside. A taste of the breathtaking scenery of In Ella it would seem that you are standing at the edge of the world, and everything around you seems to disappear at your feet. Some of the places you could see in Ella are the Ella Gap, Ravana Ella Falls, Little Adam's Peak and Bambaragala Peak among the other many varied pleasant walks with stunning scenery.

Ella is only a small village located high in the mountains. Most visitors to Ella only spend a couple of days there. But if you are willing to travel out of town, you can find plenty of things to do to keep you occupied. Like most places in Ella has gained momentum as a popular tourist resort and now the number of tourists visiting Ella is almost equaling the local population of the small city.

Tourism has become a major source of income for the locals in Ella. The nice thing still about Ella is that there doesn’t seem to be anyone trying to con you or rip you off, which makes for a nice laid back, relaxing stay.The closest town to Ella is Bandarawela where you could find most of the amenities and provisions that may be difficult to find in Ella.

The climate in Ella is very pleasing. It reminds of a hot English summer. Hot during the day and nice and cool at night. If you fancy climbing the peaks that are dotted around Ella, then make sure you take sun protection and water!

Ella came under the spotlight because of popular international vlogger Nas Daily – Nuseir Yassin who called Sri Lanka the most generous country to assist stranded tourists during the Covid19 pandemic. 14 Tourists were hosted by different tourist guest houses in Ella free of charge as they could not return to their respective home countries becuase of the lockdown.
