The north of Sri Lanka is special for several reasons, one being that it was denied - or was it spared? of tourism for three decades. In fact more aid workers than tourists travelled to Jaffna during the conflict days. Now with the dawn of peace in these areas, more and more visitors want to explore theses undiscovered areas of the island. From the northernmost point of Sri Lanka - Point Pedro to a peninsula full of surprises and delights to the northern parts of the mainland which evidently hold the the most war-torn areas of the country a lot can be discovered by a visitor to these parts.
